Did you know...

that injectable DDAVP, 10mL vial, comes in a generic form?  Manufactured by Ferring Laboratories, it is called DESMOPRESSIN ACETATE Injection. NDC 55566-5040-1

B-D (Beckton-Dickinson) came out with an Ultrafine II, 30 gauge insulin syringe that can be used for injectable DDAVP? It has a short point on it and comes in a variety of barrel sizes.  Right now, it is the thinnest needle available.  They come in packages of 100 and are available from your pharmacy.  Call 1-800-237-4554 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (eastern time) for more information.

Diapid, an orphan drug is free to the patient?  Diapid is no longer available through a regular pharmacy because it is now an "orphan drug" - that is, since only a small number of people benefit from it and it is not cost-effective to manufacture, the Government has agreed to the expense of making the drug and it is free to the patient.  The patient can not order the drug directly; rather the patient's doctor must write a letter explaining why the patient needs the drug, the duration of the need, and the amount of the drug for the next three month period.  The doctor should send the information to Novartis Pharmaceuticals at the following address:
